Umm, it’s been a while since I posted. Or let’s just say, been a while since I felt that there was something that I deeply felt or cared about.
Sometimes we feel things and sometimes those things are right. It’s an instinct. And it’s advised that if you do act on the basis of your instinct then trust it enough to follow through. Don’t chicken out halfway. Now that’s a lot of pressure for something that’s just a feeling (obv I’m not a psychology expert, if you are then help me here). When do you know whether a feeling is worth pursuing or not? Because the minute you start pursuing it, it takes form. It’s something actionable, it’s something persistently real.
That’s my dilemma. How/what do you choose to ignore or not?
I find myself acting on instincts that stem from circumstances and some very deep societal conditioning. Some things that are so obvious that I succumbed to forecasting the consequent outcome; which in itself is a vicious circle of catalysing certain situations and reactions.
Alternatively, if you choose not to act on an instinct, it’s a minor self betrayal or that’s what it feels like.
Interpret this as you like, share what you think with me. I’m keen to know how or why do you feel motivated enough to act on instincts?
