Today I’m sharing a poem that I had written almost ten years ago. That was my last poem. I want to get back to writing poetry but it’s been pretty hard for some reason. Anyway, here it goes:

~ I dreamed

Dreams are strange

They reflect reality

How we want it to be.

I dreamed messages

I dreamed emo(gi)s and egos

I dreamed a fantasy.

I dreamed a black boy,

I dreamed that I’m racist.

I dreamed a lost girl,

Her heart lost enough.

I dreamed the sunshine,

I dreamed marigolds.

I dreamed a splash of colour,

The beauty of a rose.

I dreamed a photo

Comprising of a million words

That weren’t ever spoken

Ever left the lips.

I dreamed a long sigh

And I dreamed a promise,

Of never to bother again

Only to bother for life.
